What you need to know about Pole Sport

So what's Pole Sport?

Learn to create different shapes with the pole. Climb, hang upside down, and working toward more acrobatic shapes and tricks.

About the apparatus

A vertical, metal bar on which we can do elegant, speedy, sensual, or strong movements. These movements can be done while spinning or while the pole is static.

So how does Pole Sport help you?

It makes you incredibly strong and flexible in time. If you join our classes, you won't need to go to the gym (although it’s a great addition), because you work your whole body in terms of strength, flexibility, mobility and coordination.

Do I need to be strong or flexible to join a class?

Nope! We have students who have never done any kind of sport before and some who haven't done any for a very long time. The only thing you do need is the courage to sign up for your first class.

Our Pole Sport classes

So you have a beginner class?

Yes! Over the course of 12 weeks we teach you the foundations of Pole Sport mixed in with a bit of Pole Flow: climbing, sitting, and moving around the pole.

When you finish the Beginner classes, it's your choice if you move on or go back. In Intermediate 1 you'll build strength and learn to work with sequences while going back to Beginner will help solidify your foundations.

When can I join a beginner class?

You can join Beginner 1 classes anytime. Beginner 2 classes are for those who have completed Beginner 1.

If you don't see Beginner 1 classes in our schedule, you can send us a message. If there is enough interest we will add one. If not, you can join Open Training classes to catch up and join the group. Just make sure you pick classes where a teacher for your discipline is teaching.

What do I need to wear or bring?

  • Wear something comfortable that allows you to move freely, ideally shorts. Your skin needs to make contact with the pole for you to do most poses.

  • Do not wear any rings or bracelets on your hands and wrists. They can cause injuries and damage the apparatuses.

  • Bring a bottle of water, it's important to stay hydrated.

Here's everything else you need to know before joining us.

What about other levels?

Of course! In our Intermediate 1, 2 and Advanced classes, we practice sequences or combinations of moves over the course of 6 weeks.

We also focus more on conditioning, practicing poses, and sequences both on spinning and static pole. Our classes have their own level:

  • Intermediate 1: Join if you’ve gone to at least 6 Beginner classes. Here we work on strengthening the basics like climbing, invert and transitioning from one move to the other.

  • Intermediate 2: If you are comfy in your invert, we'll work more upside down with poses like Scorpio (inside leg hang) or Gemini (outside leg hang).

  • Advanced: If you can do a straddle in the air, we'll work on more complex transitions, shoulder mount and spending more time in the air.

We also offer a variety of events like photoshoots, workshops, and performance days to help you elevate your pole skills.

How much does a class cost?

We have different types of memberships and payment options for every budget. Check out our Prices page to learn more.
